Coaching Is What Makes Training for Warriors Different
The reality is, you already know what to eat. You already know that you need to exercise in order to improve your fitness. You already know that getting adequate sleep and staying hydrated are important. And most likely, you already know that a positive mindset will take you far in life. But are you doing what you already know? If you know what to do but don’t do what you know, you are probably not getting the results you are after. Taking action and doing what you know is the only way to get the results you desire. Learning more about training, dieting or the effects of sitting for too long is great but if you are not training, choosing healthy food options and moving, it won’t help you much. If information was the only component, all of us would already have our ideal body, career, relationship – but many of us don’t.
Our goal at TFW West Bay is to help you close that gap between knowing and doing, and to take you from where you are currently and motivate and inspire you to get to where you want to go. Meet Neil and Carrie
Neil’s Story: In 2008 I graduated from the National Personal Training Institute. I began my career traveling to clients homes, training one on one sessions. I then started running group fitness programs out of various facilities around the state. All the while trying to better myself, along with everybody I had the opportunity to work with. In keeping up with my training education, I had attended a training seminar at the Providence convention center. I was introduced to the philosophy of Martin Rooney, creator of the Training For Warriors system. I was in awe of the motivation he brought to the group and his knowledge not only on training but on Coaching. Leaving that lecture I needed to find out more. I purchased his books, read them cover to cover and began implementing his philosophy in my programming and instruction. I was hooked on training for warriors! Realizing that it is possible to get one on one results in a group training atmosphere only fueled my passion to help more people take back their health and fitness! Not only did the program and teachings get me from where I was to where I wanted to be, it was helping my students achieve great success! The opportunity arose to become certified in the Training For Warriors system, and the rest is history. Now I have the opportunity to share this results based system and welcome you to our global community and support group!
Carrie’s Story: After spending two decades in the medical field, I realized that many of the health issues I saw patients suffering from could potentially be better managed if not prevented entirely if they had the knowledge and direction to better care for themselves. Sedentary lifestyles and poor nutrition are, in many cases, the precursors to a whole host of diseases and health issues that people are living with currently. Recognizing that I had the potential to help others more effectively through prevention rather than cure, I became certified as a personal trainer and redirected my professional focus in order to educate people on how to incorporate better nutrition and exercise into their daily routines. Watching our members improve their health and fitness by showing them that it is possible to have fun integrating more activity and better food choices into their daily lives has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
